[1]National Institutes of Health and U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that a number of patients, including patients at risk of premature meningioma, experienced symptoms including sudden vision loss, headache, and seizures. The clinical outcomes were comparable to those for meningioma patients, but patients were more likely to experience severe side effects.

The National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIDHD) guidelines for the treatment of patients with meningioma recommend that, when a patient is in the early stage of disease, a risk-benefit ratio of the treatment is not considered. These guidelines are based on a study that included 9,000 patients with patients with meningioma and 6,000 patients without meningioma. The study authors conclude that the incidence of adverse events, which included vision-related side effects, were significantly higher in patients with meningioma who received Viagra, compared with patients who received no medication. Viagra, in particular, is contraindicated in patients with diabetes or those with a history of seizures or blood pressure changes.

In addition to the use of Viagra as a treatment for meningioma, the FDA also notes that Viagra is also used to treat pulmonary hypertension, but its use should not be recommended to patients with cardiovascular disease, as there is a risk of serious adverse events.

In this study, 814 patients with meningioma who were treated with Viagra were analyzed. Of these, 619 (13%) patients had a history of cardiovascular disease, and 473 (12%) patients had a history of hypertension, compared with 477 (12%) patients with hypertension. Viagra was used in only 4 patients, with a mean duration of use of 4.4 years.

Viagra is approved in the United States for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men (ED). The most common side effect reported in this study was headache, which included in rare cases vision-related side effects in 6 patients (3.6%).

About 6.7% of patients reported sexual side effects including erectile dysfunction. The most commonly reported adverse events were headache, dyspepsia, and visual disturbances. More than one-third of the Viagra-treated patients experienced side effects including visual disturbances, headache, and vision-related side effects. Other reported adverse events included:

    • headache
    • nausea
    • diarrhea
    • abdominal pain
    • diplopia
    • changes in vision
    • back pain
    • vivid vision
    • an erection
    • nasal congestion
    • abnormal vision

The adverse event rates in patients treated with Viagra were high compared with those seen in patients with diabetes, hypertension, or a history of cardiac events. The rate of serious adverse events in patients with diabetes was 4% in Viagra-treated patients compared with 2% in patients without diabetes. More serious adverse events, including severe cardiovascular events, occurred in Viagra-treated patients compared with those without cardiovascular disease. The rate of serious adverse events in patients with hypertension was 3% in Viagra-treated patients compared with 2% in patients without hypertension.

The most common side effect in patients treated with Viagra was headache. A total of 531 patients had headache, and 533 patients had no headache. The most common adverse events reported in patients treated with Viagra were headache, dyspepsia, and visual disturbances. The most common adverse events were headache, dyspepsia, and visual disturbances. There were no significant differences in the frequency of severe adverse events between patients treated with Viagra and those who did not receive Viagra.

About the National Institutes of HealthThis is the largest, most comprehensive, and most extensive study of meningioma in the United States. The study was conducted by the NIH, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and the National Institutes of Health.

    About Viagra

Viagrais a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help men achieve and maintain an erection. Viagra works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) which causes erection problems in men by blocking the effects of sexual stimulation in the penis. These problems will be corrected at some point without prescription by new medications. ED is a common condition, affecting approximately 1 in 5 people with a given sex disorder. However, many men suffer from ED even when they don't have sexual thoughts or seek treatment for other mental health conditions.

How Viagra Works for Male Erectile Dysfunction

Viagra is a prescription medication. This means men can obtain sexual stimulation with or without food. However, some men use Viagra for the long-term management of ED. This is not due to an issue with the medication but a process of their bodies becoming sexually aroused again. Viagra only manages managing the medication.
